ExxonMobil Yellowstone River Oil Spill

An ExxonMobil pipeline leaked an estimated 1,000 barrels of crude oil into the Yellowstone River in Montana. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has released a team to the site, and ExxonMobil informs the media that environmental cleanup has begun. ExxonMobil's corporate headquarters are in Houston, Texas.

Regardless of what is being done to address the immediate and obvious problems, harm to the Yellowstone River and its habitat will be serious and long lasting. Predictable problems include water and soil pollution, damage to crops and pasture land, and harm to the value of the property in affected areas. Astronomical clean up costs and health concerns are common features of a disaster like this.

For this reason, the people of Montana deserve the most knowledgeable attorney who is familiar with oil spill victims to represent them.

Federal Officials say there is oil as far as 240 miles downstream. The
effected farmland at this point is estimated at 2000-5000 acres.
However even farmland that is not contaminated is still effected as
the Yellowstone is an irrigation source.
